November 2020

image

November brings us to the next phase of the transformation out of 2020 and on to a transformed world in 2021. The bridges back to the past weren't just burned, they were blown up! You are responsible for creating the new future for yourself, as is everyone. Should you have been standing like a deer in the headlights for the last month: Beep, Beep! Hey! Get out of the middle of the road or be run over.

The Sun

The Sun is in Scorpio, the time of the year that aligns with death and rebirth. While folks born around this time are fearless about the deep watery emotional energies, most of us are terrified of the unknown. If you have a Scorpio friend, they can help you take the seriousness lightly, but it is up to you to learn to be OK with your ultimate demise. Things will seem really dark in November as the days shorten down to December's Solstice, when the days begin to get longer again.

Mercury

Mercury has been retrograde in Scorpio since October 13th. You have been facing some of the darker aspects of your life and the times, dealing with demons and unearthing things we prefer to have buried. It has been harder to handle our emotions and moods have been prevalent.

Watch for tricksters and thievery. Plan to stay calm and respond, instead of anticipating the worst outcome. This Mercury Retrograde happens across a pretty intense area of the zodiac, which ancient astrologers referred as “Via Combusta” or “The Fiery Road.” The old traditions held that this section of the sky was particularly nasty, and when certain planets moved through this domain, they exhibited their worst behavior (eek).

Mercury retrograded back into the air sign of Libra on October 27th. The last time Mercury retrograde ended on election day in Libra was in the dreadful 2000 election with the hanging chads, from which "no clear winner emerged." The time Mercury was in retrograde in Scorpio before that was 1973. About November 17th or so, Richard Nixon gave his famous "I am not a crook" speech about the Watergate scandal in which he had the Democratic National Convention offices bugged. This blatant disregard of the truth is part of why the Baby Boomers don't believe government officials. And so the cycle repeats, as cycles are known to do.

This election will culminate in the same energy frequencies as these past cycles. We might not know the winner until after Mars goes direct on November 13th. It's not important when they finish counting all the votes. The government is set up not to transfer until January anyway. You have survived such a snarl before. You will survive it again. Plan for it. No matter how things turn out. Intend to detach, observe, and simply stand back and watch it all unfold. All pain is a result of resisting what is. Just be aware of what is, and get back to what is important in YOUR life.

Mars

Mars has been retrograde in its home sign of Aries since September 9th. Weather was warmer than usual and hurricanes and tropical storms have dropped FIVE storms into Louisiana. Hurricane Zeta is the 11th to make landfall in the U.S. this year. The largest number of tropical storms and hurricanes to make landfall in the continental U.S. prior to 2020 was nine in 1916. The high speed winds weren't limited to the Gulf Coast, though. They have raged in equal force as Santa Anna winds, fanning more wildfires than ever before. In early October, 65 large fires were burning in California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and five other states, and they still rage on today.

Mars will continue its retrograde period for another couple of weeks. Impatience will be your worst enemy. Passive aggression will be your pet peeve. There will continue to be a lot of stewing as we have no way of taking control that is definitive or immediate. The divisiveness and disdain that weaves into the fabric of our lives has been snagging whenever we tried to burst forth in frenzy.

As long as you have been working on previous initiatives and pasts pursuits, you may have had some small successes. Baby steps will get you there. Frustration and anxiety rear their heads when you try to lead down a new pathway, set a new benchmark, or try something solo. Failure to follow through and fear of risk has hindered every step.

Until November 13th, try seeing old problems with new points of view. Avoid obsessing, and instead expand research. Tend to health issues of the head…eyes, nose, ears, teeth as well as brain. Take the time for safety precautions and avoid emergency rooms in the pandemic. Plan rest periods and play time. Yes: Play Time. (Seriously. How long has it been since you've been goofy or giggled?)

As we near November 13th, be prepared for some especially strong and dominant forces coming from folks who intend to see to it that you see things and do things their way. Irrational behavior and reactions will stun you, but don't drop your jaw in public. Just be silent and observe, glad its not you making such choices. People will not reveal their plans. Nor will they do what they say. Breathe. Whatever will be WILL BE. You get to choose how you'll respond.

Mars Moves Direct, the Phoenix Rises, and So Do YOU!

image

On Saturday, November 14th, Mars moves direct in the cardinal Fire sign of Aries, as the New Moon happens in the fixed Water sign of Scorpio. This will be an extremely good day to start something new. If you have been doing your research, creating your business plan, and gathering your team, let the games begin!

Mars is the planet of energy, action, and desire. This is the planet of action, not reaction. Mars doesn't think. It acts, via its own will and initiative. What do you intend to will into being this November? What will you do to lead the way?

When You Can't Go Home for the Holidays...

Because you would rather miss family at the table than miss them forever, you will be extremely careful about family gatherings this year. We have all been quarantining off and on since last March, and have not seen much of anyone except on Zoom or another online streaming service. You miss hugs. You want some normalcy. You want to go home.

image

Some homes have burned to the ground in this year's wildfires. Some have been flooded or had roofs taken off in hurricanes. Some have been sold, razed, and are simply gone. Others have different families living there now, as our loved ones have either downsized or died. And you sigh and miss being able to go home. But home is not a place, you know? You can't always physically go back to your grandma's kitchen or your mama's house. You can't gather with your loved ones around your tables this Thanksgiving because you want to keep them and yourself safe and well. So there is this sense of unfulfilled yearning.

So what are you gonna do about it? With Mars going direct, it's time to quit whining and start making plans!

image

While you may not gather around the table together, you can still reach out to family and friends, connecting in new ways, even if you can't hug. You can share smiles even without masks online. Young and old can gather when they live together, but they like you must visit virtually across the miles. What you need are some new Thanksgiving traditions to bring you closer, even while everyone stays socially distanced.

image

Simultaneously Old & New Ideas for Fresh Traditions

  • Plan which online app and which of your largest screens you will use for gathering virtually. You can start a Zoom account for free at www.zoom.us. Just sign up and get started in about three steps. If you're too much of an oldster to handle technology, have a youngster guide you through. Plan to record the visits you have this holiday to watch again or share later. Zoom handles it for you.
  • Dress up for the party. Wear holiday finery or bring back the ugly sweater contest with prizes for photos taken and posted online. Gift cards are appreciated by old and young alike!
  • Decorate the area where the Zoom party will be happening. In front of and behind the camera. Clean the space and clear the clutter. Get out things that belong to ancestors or seasonal decorations. Include goofy stuff as well as traditional. Snoopy always works, you know?
  • Play music softly in the background, light candles, make sure there are the scents of the season wafting through the space.
  • Showcase pies and other dessert treats in viewing range. Ask others to "show you theirs."
  • Get out old photos. If you have none of ancestors and siblings, look at what you have put online this year and print out some of those. Decide who favors whom and write that on the backs of the pictures. Post the old photos online and tag the youngster who favors the ancestor.
  • Tell stories! Exchange information about your family that goes back as far as you can recall. Tell the oldest stories you know to the youngest members of the family.
image
  • Ask family musical members to sing a holiday song. They can sing, play an instrument, or simply share their favorite musician performing the song (Use SHARE SCREEN). Those who are embarrassed can pair up with a youngster. They are fearless! Or let the whole group sing together. "Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go…" is actually the prelude to Jingle Bells! "The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh through the white and drifting snow-Oh!"
  • Plan a scavenger hunt. Youngsters won't know what it is, but oldsters do. Be sure to include finding some things the young ones have never used or heard of, like a thimble or a petticoat. Have prizes for everyone.
  • Exchange and cook each other's favorite recipes. Scout out a new recipe to try and share it with each other in emails.
  • Create a census of all the family members you contact. Update physical addresses, email addresses, websites, offspring, significant others, jobs, education, teeth lost, vehicles, ages, latest education, and animal family members too!
  • Using the census information, create an updated family tree like the one below. You can just write names or take pictures and cut out faces if you are afraid to draw. Every family has a chronicler, photo taker, ancestry keeper. Ask them to take the lead on this. Take photos or scans everyone's trees and email them to share with each other.
image

Here's video of the song called "These are the Days," from Keith Urban's album, "Be Here." It will warm your heart. Share it with family to inspire them to share songs that touch their hearts too.

You are creating memories that will carry you through to Christmas and the New Year. Hang on to family and friends. Share yourself and your home and your traditions. Love is what you are looking for. Give it freely in these selfless ways and watch love flow freely between you and all your loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

2020 Feng Shui Five Elements Workshops:
The Dance of the Celestial Animals

image

Whirling with the White Tiger will be presented on Sunday afternoon, November 8th, 1:30-3PM Central, with a focus on the energy of Mutable Metal, which makes change much easier as everything transforms in the dark days of November. The energy of the time shifts from the power that Metal provides in your environment and life, to the changeability of melting Metal.

My Time Flow Keys Theory, which is included and explained in my Feng Shui & Moon Magic Planning Calendar, reveals that the time flow for November whirls out and away from the Cardinal quality of Metal into an energy field wherein all things are possible. The structure provided by Metal's strength is melting away, as all things eventually do. Let go of what no longer serves you. Bring in some freshness for the coming new year.

We will look at ideas for quick, cheap, and easy ways to transform the outside of your home, as well as each room in the house. Spend your Sunday afternoon whirling in your imagination and bring in updates to your home so you can enjoy a transformed family gathering space. Consider which room or rooms you would like to take from caterpillar to butterfly and start your plan of action to implement in this time. Why not give it a whirl?

Join me live online via Zoom from wherever you are, Sunday, November 8th, from 1:30-3PM and join us for Whirlng with the White Tiger. Tuition: $30. Register today at https://www.tomorrowskey.com/FengShuiWorkshops.html

The Practical Magic Workshop: Celebrating the Sun's Return will revitalize your spirits during the darkest days of the year. As December unfolds, there are less than 10 hours of light a day and you feel drained. The best cure for the darkness drain is the LIGHT!

Cinnamon is a magical spice that warms the heart and the spirit as we approach the Winter Solstice. You will bring cinnamon sticks, glass candle votives, and hot glue together to create your cinnamon stick Yule candleholder centerpiece. Accessorize with buttons, holly, cutouts of last year's Christmas cards, nuts, ribbons, cord, rafia, and even old holiday jewelry you'll never wear again. Depending on your preference, make your centerpiece in the Christian or Jewish tradition with the colors you choose to accessorize with.

Here is the Wild Card You Were Hoping For

Eclipses are dramatic “wild cards” in your days. They are some of the most dramatic change leverage there is. They yank us out of being stuck, whammy our concepts of reality, and then boot us across the burning bridge. There is NO GOING BACK. (Sound familiar?)

Any eclipse is a significant event in the heavens. In truth, a solar eclipse is really a new moon on steroids and a lunar eclipse is a full moon on steroids – they have the strength of three new moons or full moons. So November is gonna end with a whammy and its follow up partner, the Solar Eclipse comes in two weeks, just before the Winter Solstice.

Expect:

  • Big news. Something that was, is no more. It is time for you to move on.
  • As something ends, something else begins. You may be shocked.
  • Lunar eclipses bring on final endings. Say goodbye and get out.
  • Solar eclipses bring new beginnings. Yay!
  • There will be a random event triggered that will plop vast changes at your door.
  • Time will speed up. Timetables will be blown to smithereens.
  • The TRUTH will out.
  • Sneaky stuff will be revealed.
  • Your new reality is non-negotiable and firm.
  • Pay attention to all news, signs, gossip, and messages. All of them.
  • If this eclipse is within 5 days of your birthday or half-birthday, guard your health.
  • Expect to pivot directions.
  • Someone may be eclipsed out of your life.
  • Stuff that happens now is more serious than at regular times.
  • Bite your tongue against issuing ultimatums. Mind the words you speak.
  • Avoid major shifts in action. It is not going to turn out the way you think.
  • Keep your schedule light and flexible.
  • This same energy frequency happened 19 years ago. Think back…
  • All eclipses have an encore. Wait for it.
  • Be brave. Destiny favors the bold. Eclipses open doors!

Lunar Eclipse in Gemini

This eclipse is about communication, attitude, and your sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of you, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that you let it out. This can be quite tricky with the current state of quarantine.

Relationships may be challenged, broken, or strengthened dramatically at this time. Holidays tend to be emotionally charged and dramatic, but the eclipse can lead to bigger ah-ha moments. Epiphanies may propel you into taking action, once you get past the initial sense of chaos.

The areas of your life that are driven by the eclipse may see a dramatic slamming on the brakes, but after your heart starts beating normally again, the path is clear to move forward. Note that whatever happens at this time is nothing truly new. The issues and emotions have been brewing inside of you. You will learn something new as November comes to a close, and if you think about it and consider it with your heart, you may choose a new direction to create your New World Order.

Remember, the Solar Eclipse will be right along in December. We'll talk about that next month.

Pig Lipstick

Planting petunias around a dead tree won’t raise the downward spiraling chi to overcome the death process happening in this front center area of the land. Decay has set into the Career and Life Path gua. Call a tree expert today!

Any tree taller than 5 feet is as conscious as an adult human being. While every leaf and branch and root are dead, every cell still exists, like the cells in a human body after the spirit leaves. It takes a while for the consciousness of every cell to give up the ghost, so to speak. To align with the realization that the overall source of life force has left the body.

Until then, the tree stands strong and tall. It looks strong and tall. But it is dead, just like a bare skeleton is dead. The homeowner takes great care of their yard, regardless of the season. But the homeowner isn’t letting go of the star of its front yard: the big tree. There IS another tree, and it is alive and well. This one, however, is d.e.a.d.

Adding petunias at its feet is like putting lipstick on a pig. You can dress up a cadaver all you want, it is still d.e.a.d. and getting deader! The branches will begin to fall. Interestingly, they have put all sorts of skulls and skeletons on their front porch, which is in the Career gua of the house itself. The Halloween decor amplifies the frequency of death.

The job, career, or business that these people perform is likely crashing just as hard as this tree. They are putting on a positive face, and keeping on keeping on, but with all the frequency of death and decay, new life cannot be sustained. As without, so within.

If you have something dead in your environment, whether outside or in, whether a pet, relative, or bug, the downward spiral of death will continue. Metempsychosis cannot begin until transformation happens. Pig lipstick isn’t gonna alleviate this dead tree’s decaying chi.

Water Magic (Excerpt)

Water covers almost 70% of our blue planet. In Nature, water is the only element which can exist in three different states simultaneously: liquid, solid, and vapor. The structure of water, two hydrogen molecules bonded with one oxygen molecule, allows the sharing of electrons between the molecules, and between the elements of the atmosphere and environment around it. H2O is the second most common molecule in the Universe (behind hydrogen). There are a hundred times as many water molecules in your body than the sum of all the other molecules in you put together. Your body is almost 70% water. Every bit of water that ever was on our planet is still on our planet. Earth can never run out of water because we live in a closed environmental system. The atmosphere holds all the water in a perpetual cycle of regeneration—just like magic!

Life evolves and continues only in the presence of liquid water. Life gestates in amniotic fluid, and birth begins with the “breaking of water”—just like magic!

Venus (a.k.a. Aphrodite), goddess of love and beauty, rose fully formed from the sea. She is shown here being blown to the shore by Zephyros, known as the fructifying wind and the messenger of Spring. Here Venus is seen as the Maiden. Venus’ father was Neptune (a.k.a. Poseidon), god of the oceans. Where there is love there is water—even if it is thundering in your blood and through your heart. God is love. HU is one of the many names of God. The words humid and humanity both include HU, and refer to water and to God. The word “joy” shares the same root as “oil.” When humans have a fluid flow in life, everything seems blessed. Life is joyous and loving. When the flows of joy and love dry up, life gets pretty rough. To get back to the magic of flow, one must return to the water, or HU. Venus symbolizes the receptive feminine energy (yin). She is the yielding, watery principle personified—or deified in this case. Water is the source of love and joy…and life!

Water is sacred in many of the world’s religions. “Mar” is the Latin word for “sea” or “water.” The names Mary and Maria are built from this Latin root. Mary, mother of Jesus, is always shown wearing blue—like the sea. Her archetype aligns strongly with that of Venus, but Mary is the Madonna. Mothers give milk —the liquid that helps get you started in life. Baptisms and blessings are done with Holy water. Saint Teresa of Avila, a Doctor of the Church who was a strong believer in the power of Holy water, wrote that she used it with success to repel evil and temptations. “I know by frequent experience that there is nothing which puts the devils to flight like Holy water.” Spring water seeks the light. Many springs and wells are considered hallowed (holy), but all water is sacred (secret).

After a long time without water, when the rains come, plants green up and bloom in no time at all. The air smells fresh and everything feels washed clean. In fact, we recreate this experience every day in the shower because it changes our energy field from grungy to fresh—just like magic!

Water is more magical than you may have imagined. If you’re looking for science, however, there is plenty of that too. According to Neils Bohr, the Nobel Prize winning physicist, water, like all matter, is not only aware, it is supportive of you. You may not know, however, that water has memory. It records within its structure the thoughts, emotions, and images of all it witnesses. There is plenty of scientific research to back this statement, such as Masaru Emoto’s Message in the Water, but there are many other published studies that reveal water records everything it witnesses. For more research, see Water, The Great Mystery, available at Amazon.com or on YouTube.com; along with many other videos on that site, such as the one at http://youtu.be/ILSyt_Hhbjg

As you fully integrate the realization that water has a memory, you begin to expand your awareness to take in the thought that the water that comes out of your faucet has been in a closed loop system for many years. As your water moves through the city’s treatment plants you get the same water back over and over again. And that water is full of all sorts of human emotion and experiences—voiced and unvoiced, nice and not so nice. The feelings resonate with vibrations and, as you know, water vibrates when exposed to sound. Everything does, it’s just easier to see it in water. (For more information on how sound makes shape—how words affect matter—check out cymatics on YouTube.)

You drink the water. You give it to your children and your pets. You cook with it, bathe in it, and play in it. You water your garden fruits and veggies with it, then eat the produce. You are taking in more than you realize. Remember, your body is almost 70% water. Therefore, every word you say is carried in the water’s memory. Your body absorbs up to half a gallon of water in a shower. Houston’s humidity is legendary. Walking from your car to your office, your skin and lungs absorb the water from the air. Let’s look at some ways you can tap into the magic of that water.
